A bad news for the BSNL EVDO users. This Saturday i went to the BSNL office in NOIDA to inquire about the data card but i was shocked to see the revised and almost doubled rates for the EVDO card. The "Circular C&R No. 75/09-10" stated the following rates:

S.No. Price Monthly free usage in GB
1. 199.00 0.5
2. 299.00 1.0
3. 449.00 2.0
4. 649.00 5.0
5. 999.00 Unlimited

The unlimited data limit that we used to enjoy for as little as 550 or perhaps 650 has now been revised to 999 + 100(roaming) + 10.3(tax) = Rs. 1213/-

On one hand Indian broadband lobbyist's admit the failure of broadband in India and on the other hand instead of decreasing prices they are increasing the prices. This country can never progress untill we have the stupid Babus making braodband unavailable to the average Indian.

Yes. BSNL new internet connections across the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts earlier this month.Even i also got surprised by new charges. The EvD accessory costs Rs 3,500 and with inclusion of taxes it comes up to Rs 4,192. The activation charges of Rs 500 are included in it. Internet charges per month are fixed at Rs 999!!!!!!!!!!

I would still like to have this.
They are going to start offering EVDO in Manipal.
I really got confused when I saw in BSNL site 999 while throughout the net it was like 550 increased to 650.

Now I know it's 999 + usb modem cost + tax and surcharge from here and there ... :(

Oh well ........ I am certainly going for the unlimited one, limited ones are meaingless, I am bound to get overbilled on that.

Hello :
From reliable sources i have learnt that the new tarrif for evdo is applicable only for activations beyond and including 01/12/'09 .Also new set of numbers are given for these activations so as to separate old connections and new.
Rest all the conditions remain the same.
would be interesting to see the implementation in the Feb Bill.
enjoy till then!
